DO YOU SUPPLY EVERYTHING TO MAKE MY TOY ?

Each kit consist of a single piece of fabric with all the pieces of your toy printed onto it, an instructions sheet and a photograph of the made up toy.

I don’t supply filling or, where they are used, wool, ribbons or press studs, as it would make the kits too bulky and expensive.

WHICH ARE THE EASIEST TOYS TO MAKE ?

Probably the Pocket Dolls and Little Women.  But none of them are really difficult.  Most of the animals are very easy to make.  The clothes of the dolls take on and off so they are really complete sewing exercises in miniature.

HOW BIG WILL MY TOY BE WHEN IT’S MADE UP ?

The sizes of each of the toys is on the Details/Order page.

ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS EASY TO FOLLOW ?

Yes.  They are all in clearly drawn pictures, so if you don’t read English you can still make up your toy.

WHAT HINTS CAN YOU GIVE ME ABOUT CUTTING THE PIECES UP AND PUTTING THEM TOGETHER ?

There is a clearly marked broken cutting line or rim around each section of the toy. Cut along that.  Where pieces of the toy have to match together - a back and a front of something - hold the two pieces up to the light, printed sides inward, so that you can check the edges match, then pin them together .   It’s  a good idea to then tack the pieces together before sewing.

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A SEWING MACHINE ?

It doesn’t matter, you can just as easily sew the toys by hand as long as you use small stitches.

When you sew make sure your stitches go on the inside edge of the sewing line around each toy piece.

And when all the pieces are sewn together you might need to trim off some of the surround close (but not too close) to the sewing  before you turn your toy the right way out.

WHAT FILLING SHOULD I USE ?

The best filling is polyester fibre.  But you can use any soft material as long as it is clean, cut into small pieces, and the colours are fast so they won’t run when your toys are washed.

Cottonwool or old nylons are fine - carpet underlay is not !

HOW SHOULD I PUT THE FILLING IN ?

Put in very small pieces at a time, then it won’t go lumpy.  Use a knitting needle or a thin stick to poke the filling into place.  Make sure you use enough to make the toy as firm as you want it to be.

ARE THE KITS WASHABLE ?

Yes.  You can even put your toy through a gentle wash in the washing machine.  But before you do make sure that you have used a colour fast filling.

WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE KITS IN THE MONEY OF  MY COUNTRY ?

If you want to find out how much the kits will cost before you place an order go to the XE currency conversion site at http://www.xe.com and that will give you a good idea.  $18.00AUD each for the animals, $22.00AUD each for the dolls plus $2.00 per kit towards the postage wherever you are in the world.

Otherwise you can see the exact conversion rate when you place your order.

WHAT IF I GET MY KITS AND THEN DECIDE I DON’T WANT THEM ?

If you send them back to me, in their original state, within seven days of receiving them, I will refund your money.

But the kits must be undamaged and not cut up !

HOW CAN I BUY YOUR E-BOOKS ?

My e-books are available at the following sites: Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and Waterstones. They are all priced the same at $US2.99 each.

Happy reading !
